How to use NOMU Vanilla

While the term ‘vanilla‘ is often used to describe something plain and unremarkable, our range of Bourbon Vanilla Paste, Extract and Essence is anything but that!

With three products on offer, each with their own distinct attributes, it couldn’t be easier to add a boost of vanilla goodness to all your favourite bakes and desserts!

VANILLA PASTE

NOMU Vanilla Paste contains seeds from the finest Bourbon vanilla beans combined with cold-pressed Vanilla Extract and comes in an ingenious (if we say so ourselves!) dispenser pump.

Use this award-winning product whenever you want to see stunning vanilla seeds flecked in your foodie creations – perfect for classic vanilla ice cream, panna cotta, crème brulee and much, much more!

The easy-to-use, mess-free dispenser redefines convenience. One pump roughly equals 1ml, which means 5 pumps is all you need to add a stunning vanilla finish to 1 litre of cream, batter, icing or liquid.

HOW TO USE:

  1. Turn the dispenser 90 degrees to the left to open the airlock, allowing you to press down on the dispenser.
  2. Pump the dispenser until the paste is visible in the nozzle.
  3. Press down on the dispenser – 1 pump is equivalent to 1 ml.
  4. Turn the lid back 90 degrees to the right to close the airlock.

TRY THIS:

  • Elevate plain whipped cream by mixing in a few pumps of Vanilla Paste. Dollop on top of Hot Chocolate or serve with your favourite puddings.
  • Stir into natural yoghurt to serve with granola or fruit.
  • For an easy dessert, mix into mascarpone cheese with a splash of cream and 1 tsp of caster sugar. Serve with a bowl of fresh strawberries, poached stone fruit or griddled pears.
  • For a quick Eton mess, serve some vanilla-swirled whipped cream with squashed macerated raspberries, a sprinkling of icing sugar and smashed meringues.

RECIPES:

VANILLA EXTRACT

Unlike most vanilla essence products, which are primarily artificial in nature, NOMU Vanilla Extract is the real deal – authentic, true flavour extract, cold processed from pure hand-harvested Bourbon vanilla beans. This is an essential ingredient for both home bakers and professional chefs alike and promises spectacular, beautifully rich and rounded vanilla flavour.

The high concentration of Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla in our extract means that you only need 1 teaspoon to flavour 1 litre of cream, batter, icing or liquid.

TRY THIS:

  • Add a few drops of Vanilla Extract to a mug of NOMU Hot Chocolate or even a steaming cup of coffee for an alternative twist.
  • Add to your favourite cocktails or prepare a delicious vanilla simple syrup. Vanilla works particularly well with bourbon, whiskey and spiced rum.
  • Live on the edge and add a few drops to wild mushroom risotto for a surprisingly incredible result.

ALCOHOL-FREE VANILLA ESSENCE

An everyday baking essential to add to all your favourite bakes and desserts. Unlike the more premium Vanilla Paste and Extract, NOMU Vanilla Essence isn’t preserved with alcohol, making it suitable for alcohol-free lifestyles and kids baking.

For instant and delicate vanilla flavour, simply add 5ml to 1 litre of cream, cake batter, butter icing, custard or cook dough.
