Air fryer scones

Makes: 8-10 scones, depending on the size

Ingredients

2 x 150g sachets (300g) NOMU MiniMakes All Purpose Dough & Batter Mix
80g unsalted butter, cold and cubed
1/3 cup (80ml) milk, plus extra for brushing
1 large egg

Directions

Rub the butter into the dry mix using your fingertips until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Alternatively, you can pulse them together in a food processor.

Whisk together the milk and egg, and gently incorporate into the flour mixture to form a shaggy dough. Tip the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, gently knead to bring it together and pat down until about 2cm thick. Cut out rounds with a floured cookie cutter.

Preheat your air fryer to 180°C for 2 minutes. Place an air fryer liner or piece of baking paper inside the basket and place a few scones on top – you may have to bake them in a few batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Brush the tops of the scones with extra milk and bake for 8-12 minutes or until golden and cooked through.

Serve warm with butter, whipped cream and your favourite jam.

Tip: Sprinkle some coarse brown sugar on top of your scones after brushing with milk for a crunchy topping. Have a look at our MiniMakes air fryer blog post for more baking tips and ideas!
