Vegan chocolate cake
A basic for your baking repertoire, this vegan chocolate cake can be baked into cupcakes, muffins, tray bakes and loaf cakes for every kind of occasion. Glam up your creations with one of our delicious vegan buttercreams, frostings, spreads and drizzles.

Vegan chocolate cake

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients

1 box NOMU MiniMakes Chocolate Cake Batter Mix
2/3 cup soy milk
1 tsp white vinegar
1/4 cup oil

 

Directions

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease and line a 20cm round cake tin with baking paper.

Whisk together the soy milk and vinegar in a mixing bowl and leave for a minute to thicken slightly, then whisk in the oil until combined. Add the cake mix and whisk to form a smooth batter.

Spread the cake batter evenly into the prepared tin and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.

Allow to cool completely before decorating with vegan chocolate buttercream or another one of our delicious buttercreams, frostings, spreads and drizzles.

  *Makes:
1x layer cake (20cm round tin) – bake for 25-30 min
1x tray bake (20cm square tin) – bake for 25-30 min
1x loaf (21 x 11cm loaf tin) – bake for 40-45 min
8x muffins (muffin tin) – bake for 25-30 min
12x cupcakes (muffin tin) – bake for 20-25 min
