Classic chocolate cake
One recipe, many forms of cake. Use our handy guide to bake this soft and tasty chocolate cake into different shapes and sizes for every kind of occasion.

Classic chocolate cake

Ingredients

1 box NOMU MiniMakes Chocolate Cake Batter Mix
2 large eggs  
80g unsalted butter, melted and cooled
½ cup (125 ml) milk 

Directions

Preheat your oven to 160°C and choose your baking tin from the guide below* – grease and line a cake tin, or line a muffin tray with paper cases.  

Whisk the eggs until frothy, then mix in the melted butter and milk until combined. Add the cake mix and whisk to form a smooth batter.  

Pour the batter into your prepared tin and bake according to the times outlined below (or until cooked when tested with a skewer).

Allow to cool completely before decorating with chocolate buttercream or another one of our delicious buttercreams, frostings, spreads and drizzles.

*Makes:
1x layer cake (20cm round tin) – bake for 25-30 min
1x tray bake (20cm square tin) – bake for 25-30 min
1x loaf (21 x 11cm loaf tin) – bake for 40-45 min
8x muffins (muffin tray) – bake for 25-30 min
12x cupcakes (muffin tray) – bake for 20-25 min
