1 kg fresh calamari, cleaned and cut into rings
Flour, for dusting
1 tbsp NOMU Seafood & Fish Grinder
NOMU Sea Salt and Black Pepper Grinder
1 tsp NOMU Smoked Sweet Paprika
Vegetable oil, for frying
Lemon wedges, to serve
NOMU MAYU or allioli, to serve
Place some flour in a bowl and season with the NOMU Seafood & Fish Grinder, Sea Salt and Black Pepper. Toss the calamari rings in the seasoned flour, shaking off the excess before frying.
Heat the oil in a pot or deep-fryer. Test the heat with a small piece of bread – if it sizzles the oil is ready. Fry the calamari in batches until golden and crispy.
Drain on paper towel, season with a pinch of paprika and another grind of Sea Salt. Serve with lemon wedges and allioli.
