Crisp Belgian waffles
The superior of all waffles! Belgian waffles are extremely crisp on the outside while staying light and fluffy on the inside – the perfect vessel for all your favourite toppings, both sweet and savoury!

Crisp Belgian waffles

Makes: 2 large Belgian waffles

Ingredients

1 x 150g sachet NOMU MiniMakes All Purpose Dough & Batter Mix
1 large egg
1 cup (250ml) milk, room temperature
2 tbsp (30g) butter, melted and slightly cooled

Directions

Lightly whisk the egg, milk and melted butter in a jug. Empty the dry mix into a mixing bowl and gradually whisk in the milk mixture to form a thick batter. Do not overmix! You want there to be a few lumps in the batter.

Set the batter aside while you preheat your Belgian waffle maker.

Once hot, grease your waffle maker and ladle in about 1 cup of batter. Flip immediately and cook for about 2 min 30 seconds until golden and crisp or according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Enjoy immediately with your favourite toppings like maple syrup, banana, caramelised apples, Nutella, berries or ice cream.

Tip: Makes 2 large Belgian waffles or 4 smaller waffles. You can substitute the milk for buttermilk.
