Chocolate crinkle cookies
These chocolate cookies get their gorgeous crackled appearance by quickly rolling the cookie dough balls in icing sugar before baking. A simple, effortless hack for a striking result! These cookies make particularly superb gifts over the festive season.

Chocolate crinkle cookies

Makes: 12

Metric Imperial

Ingredients

1 box NOMU MiniMakes Chocolate Cookie Dough Mix
1 large egg
60g unsalted butter, melted
1/3 cup icing sugar, sifted

Directions

Whisk together the melted butter and sugar (sachet 1), then whisk in the egg until combined. Add the cookie mix (sachet 2) and mix to form a smooth dough.

Cover and chill the dough for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 160°C fan-assisted convection and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Portion and roll the dough into 12 even balls, then flatten each one to about 1cm thick.

Place the icing sugar in a small bowl, sifting it if there are lots of clumps. Toss the cookies one at a time in the icing sugar until well coated. Place on the prepared baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool on the tray before enjoying.
