Malted Milk Chocolate Blondies
Inspired by the family of confections that brought us Chuckles, Whispers and Maltesers, these blondies get an extra boost of malty flavour from the addition of malted milk powder in the batter. Undeniably and gloriously delicious! (Try it…try it now)

Malted Milk Chocolate Blondies

Makes: 8 blondies

Metric Imperial

Ingredients

1 box NOMU minimakes Vanilla Blondie Batter Mix
80g unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
2 tbsp Ovaltine or Horlicks Original powder
50g malted milk chocolate balls (like Chuckles or Maltesers), roughly chopped, plus extra to decorate

To decorate:
30g milk chocolate, melted

Directions

Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan-assisted convection) and grease a 21 x 11 cm loaf tin and line with baking paper.

Prepare the blondie batter by whisking together the warm melted butter and sugar (sachet 1) until combined. Add the egg and whisk for 1 minute until pale and creamy. In a separate bowl combine the Ovaltine or Horlicks powder with the blondie mix (sachet 2), then stir it into the egg mixture to form a batter. Finally, add the chopped chuckles and stir to combine.

Spread the batter evenly into the prepared tin and bake for 30-35 minutes, then remove and set aside to cool.

Drizzle with melted milk chocolate and chopped chuckles before serving.

Note: Don’t worry that the batter is quite thick, this just helps in yielding a very gooey, delicious blondie.
