CHRISTMAS BISCUITS

CHRISTMAS BISCUITS

Metric Imperial

Ingredients

BISCUITS:
300 g plain flour
50 g caster sugar
A pinch of salt
175 g unsalted butter
1 tsp NOMU Sweet Rub (optional)

ICING:
300 g icing sugar
3 tbsp boiling water
Silver balls

Directions

Put the flour, sugar, salt, butter, Vanilla Extract and Sweet Rub in a food processor and blend until the mixture clumps together. Work the dough into a round ball with your hands, then wrap in cling film and refrigerate until firm.

Preheat oven to 190°C and line baking trays with baking paper.

Roll out the dough on a floured working surface. If you find the dough too soft to handle, add more flour. Cut out shapes with your cookie cutter and place biscuits on baking trays, making sure to leave room between the biscuits for spreading. Bake until golden.

Make holes in the biscuits with a skewer as soon as they come out the oven. You can thread them with ribbon or string and hang them on your Christmas tree!

For the icing, sieve the icing sugar into a mixing bowl. Mix in the hot water until it’s glossy. Place into a piping bag, pipe onto the cooled biscuits and sprinkle with silver balls.
